The Bowden cable is attached to a vehicle heater control actuator lever by making a cut near the edge of the pressed sheet lever, and pushing downwards in a joggle, to form a tongue (9, 9') parallel to the lever (14). On the lever centre line and at about mid-tongue length, a hole (7) is punched to attach the core (3) of the cable. Rotation of the core traps the cable between the tongue and lever so that the cable cannot be withdrawn. Projections can be stamped on either side of the hole, on the lever centre line, but on opposite sides of the lever. Additional holes are provided to accept a Z-shaped cable end. The main bearing hole (13) in the lever is a slot, and the lever is attached to a swinging pivoted link (16) so that the main lever may be pushed in and out as well as rotated.
|
