Cooling system for lorry - with large dia. fan in housing above and behind cab to blow over angled radiators

The rear of the cab is fitted with a special housing (1) in which a large dia. fan (2) rotates about a horizontal, longitudinal axis. The fan extends over the level of the cab and draws in cooling air to blow down over a spreading grille (16) and from there over angled radiators (3), at the bottom of the housing, and with the warm air expelled to either side of the cab. The system provides a much quieter cooling system to reduce the lorry noise level. It can cool not only the engine but can also serve to cool the heat exchanger for a cooling/air conditioning system for the cab and the load.
