<p>Device for monoaxial or biaxial, successive or simultaneous drawing of films of plastic material allows longitudinal drawing by the displacement of self-propelling grippers which grip the edges of the film. Between two successive self-propleeling grippers are disposed at least one, pref. several independent grippers which grip the edge of the film and which are displaced freely along guide means. Pref. the self-propelling grippers are attached to carriages of which the displacement is ensured by the action of linear motors. The independent grippers are driven by the film itself as drawing proceeds, and move progressively away from the adjacent self-propelling grippers. The arches which form between the edges of adjacent grippers are reduced in size, and the film edges which ahve to be eliminated are narrower.</p> |
