Structural component for heating e.g. plastic coated steel pipe - is coated with heat insulating foam and sheathed with polyethylene

A structural pipeline component for heating systems comprises a carrier for conveying a heating medium, e.g. a steel pipe coated with a thermally insulating plastics foam such as a polyurethane foam, and pref. sheathed with e.g. polyethylene. The carrier is coated with a high-temp.-resistant protective layer whose density is greater than that of the thermal insulator. Used esp. for district heating systems. Suitable for conveyance of heating media at >130 degrees C. There is good anti-corrosion protection for the steel pipe.
