Combustion of organic materials to generate heat - with circulation of hydrocarbons formed through the combustion zone

The combustion of materials which produce gases contg. condensable hydrocarbons, occurs in a deseeding direction with enforced of the hydrocarbons through the combustion zone. The process pref. burns waste organic matter from agriculture and industry, e.g. vegetable refuse, sawdust, straw, etc. Formation of tarry deposits, e.g. on heat exchangers used to extract the heat from the combustion gas, is prevented or reduced, together with atmospheric pollution. A vertical combustion unit is used, which is fed from above with the organic matter, and (partly) supplied with air through the walls. The hot combustion gases from the base pass upwards through an outer jacket contg. a heat exchanger to extract heat.
