The threshold value generator is used in containers to be filled with liquid as a protection against overfilling. It consists of a body which can be screwed into the respective container part which houses a diaphragm switch for contact making and breaking. The switch carries at its lower part (2) the threshold value generator (1), while its upper part (3) carries the terminal box (10). Preferably the switching diaphragm carries contacts (5) on its both sides, which are through connected. The respective cable may be located in a guide tube and the wire ends (6), protruding from the tube are secured to a contact plate (12). The switching diaphragm (4) may be simultaneously used as a sealing element.
