Air humidifier uses superheated steam injected into the air stream. The steam can either be at or above atmos. It is blown out via nozzles into the air stream. The supertemp. should be in the range 140 to 400 degrees C. The necessary superheat temp. is dependent on the initial temp. and humidity, the required final humidity of the air, the air flow rate and the jet arrangement. The superheater is insulated against heat losses. This prevents the air flowing over the steam line from being heated up. The steam line and the jet system has a heater to prevent heat loss from the superheated steam. This can do the complete job of superheating the steam. For use with air conditioning systems. It produces a dry, mist and aerosol free humidified air stream. Saturated or only slightly superheated steam tends to produce a fine mist even if finely distributed in the air. This causes problems with air conditioning plant. The method described overcomes this.
|
