Colour image type endoscope - has image production element with external drive signal amplification and synchronisers

The endoscope is for use in production of colour images of the interior of an object under examination. It has at least one solid state image production element (5) of self scanning type actuated in the external jacket casing (14) behind the image forming optical system (4). The image production element (5) is connected by means of a cable (6) and powered by an external drive signal from an external circuit, delivering its video output to another external circuit via another cable (6). The drive signal circuit has a video amplifier and a synchroniser for colour transformation on or in the colour image tube.
