<p>Metallised plastics film condensers, which are embedded in resin, have a layer of cured polyurethane lacquer between the resin and the winding. The lacquer pref. is applied by vacuum impregnation and then the condenser windings are sealed or enveloped with peroxide resin under vacuum. Even very thin film of polyurethane formed by cross-linking of isocyanate resins provide high grade electrical insulation and do not impair the healing of the condensers. The use of vacuum impregnation prevents air bubbles and penetration of the epoxide resin into the winding.</p> |
