<p>The coupling piece for belting material used for conveyors consists of reinforcing cable moulded into the coupling. The coupling is produced by using a mould which has a number of rows of offset pins. The reinforcing cable is then run between the pin ends such that they cross over at the mid position. The bounding material is then forced into the mould so that the reinforcing laceing is completely enclosed. When the coupling is installed, the two belt ends fit into the opposite slots which are formed by he coupling lugs. Anchor pins or rivets are then placed in the holes left by the mould pins. They are riveted over the ends and since they transverse the coupling and the belts, they provide the clamping force.</p> |
