A cable gland comprises an element (1) with a male thread at each end, one (2) for screwing into the equipment casing and one to take the nut (3) which compresses the sealing bush (9) onto the cable or pipe to give the seal. The bush (9) has axial slits (9d) which are cut to form an tangent to the bore of the bush. With the cable entered into the gland, tightening the nut deforms the sealing bush, closing its slits so that their sides lie one against the other, giving a seal without the need for additional gaskets or seals.
|
