The rotor has radial current paths. There are current collecting devices which are fitted close to the axis and the periphery of the motor between the rotor and the stator. The magnetic field generated by the excitation winding (5) corresponds to an at least approx. toroidal coil. The outer current collection device (9) is provided inside the coil (5) in a space (8) which nearly free from any magnetic field. The generator fits inside a flat disc shaped space, and it has a system of cooling channels.
