<p>A flat electrical resistor is trimmed to achieve a nominal value, by cuting at least non-conducting separating slots transverse to the direction of current flow. The slots will not all have the same length, and the first will be a coarse adjustment and the last a fine adjustment. The slots (3, 5) are introduced only on one side of the resistance surface (1) and they run parallel to each other. When three slots are used, the two outer slots (3, 6) are used for the coarse adjustment and the third slot (5) is placed half way between the two and used for fine adjustment. The slots are introduced by an automated system.</p> |
