<p>The automatic data processing system enables computer addressable machine code to be used for the cards without the need for recourse to special reader terminals. Rectangular cards may be used, one card being required for the operator and one for the machine tool or other piece of equipment. Each card has an oblong strip for permanently coded information. The reader head is a simple device which may be attached to the top of a conventional time clock as used in factories. The coding strip conveys optical or magnetic recorded data for reading by the pick-up head appropriate to the computer.</p> |
