1361126 Monitoring mounting of components MARCONI CO Ltd 22 Sept 1972 43878/72 Heading B3A Apparatus to aid locating components in a printed circuit board comprises a plurality of light sources 1 each arranged to be energized at a predetermined setting of a switch 6, and devices 14, 15 for conducting light from the light sources to predetermined apertures in a member 20 defining holes in a printed circuit board through which component leads are to be inserted. The setting of switch 6 determines which type of component is to be inserted in the circuit board and individual bulbs 27 attached to component trays 28 are coupled to individual settings of the switch. Bulbs 1 are mounted in a case 3 and a plate 12 is located to the front of the case by dowel pins 8, 9 and respective holes 10, 11. A number of pairs of light fibres 14, 15 are attached to apertures 13 and extend to apertures 21, 22 and 23, 24 whose number and position are programmed according to each circuit board. Suitable coloured filters may be provided on plate 12 to colour the light emanating from particular light fibres for the correct positioning of components which require particular orientation. |
