PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system which enables a reduction in cost. SOLUTION: When a plurality of lasers are to be combined with a plurality of optical fibers, the laser is freely connected to the channel of an optical connector. After the connection, it is confirmed which laser is connected to which channel of the optical connector for determining the correspondence. The connection between the laser and the channel of the optical connector can be confirmed by connecting a photo detector, and by actually emitting laser beams. Although the optical connector, the optical fiber, or the channel cannot be used when a fail occurs in one of them, a spare channel can be assigned for use again, thus reducing costs. |
