<p>A device for measuring the magnitude of the mould opening movement in an injection moulding machine comprises an electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic movement meter connected by an instrumentation line to a regulator. This regulator operates an adjustment mechanism (pressure-limiting valve) if the measurement falls below or exceeds the limits of a tolerance range for the distance between the half moulds. The adjustment mechanism modifies the mould closure force e.g. for the next injection cycle. Pref. a measuring rod attached to the moving mould support plate cooperated with a measuring head. As the mould is injected the distance between the moving mould support plate and the measuring head increases fractionally. If the increase exceeds a permissible value the measuring rod and head transmit a signal to the regulator and the pressure limiting valve is opened slightly. This increases the hydraulic pressure in the mould closure cylinders for the next cycle.</p> |
