The bed is in three sections (3, 5, 6) hinged together (4); for storage, the head- and foot-rails (7) are folded down, and the bed's end sections (5, 6) swung upwards on their hinges (4) to stand above the middle section; the legs and castor frame are attached to the middle section only. - The four castors (19) are mounted two by two on cross beams (18) attached to members (17) which telescope into the frame under the middle section of the bed; the telescoping members (17) may be either single or double. In the folded position and with the castor frame retracted, the bed takes up scarcely more floor space than does its middle section.
