PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium to which more user data can be recorded compared with a same-sized optical recording medium by reducing redundancy spent for all but user data such as the header and accessory parts of the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: In order to identify the code of a PID part, three different kinds of one-bit codes are allocated in accordance with the length of a prepit arranged in staggered form, and addresses are distributed and located over identification information parts, and thereby usual 128 bites used for the header part are reduced to 39 bites.
