PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light information record medium that can be used with the conventional drive, has expanded recording capacity without deviating from the standards fixed on the disk and permits stable writing and reading. SOLUTION: The track pitch and linear velocity are similar to the conventional examples in the PCA region, PMA region and read-in region. In contrast at least either the track pitch or linear velocity is smaller than that for the PCA region and PMA region in the program region and readout region. These do not change suddenly but do gradually at the transition regions of the track pitch and linear velocity. Therefore, as the tracking control does not suffer abrupt and large disturbances and the writing or reading speed does not change abruptly, stable writing and reading are performed. |
