<p>1463150 Cutting apparatus POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSR STUNGEN 3 Dec 1974 [17 Dec 1973] 52200/74 Heading B4B Apparatus for separating blanks from sheet material, e.g. paper or cardboard, comprises a rotatable tool cylinder 9 provided with a plurality of tipped cutting tools 14 projecting from the surface of cylinder, a first counter-cylinder 8 provided with a hard peripheral surface and so positioned relatively to the tool-carrying cylinder that, on rotation of the tool cylinder, the tips of the tools just touch the hard peripheral surface substantially without contact pressure therebetween and a second counter-cylinder 10 provided with a resiliently yieldable peripheral surface portion 13 and so positioned relatively to the tool-carrying cylinder that, on rotation of the tool cylinder, the tips of the tools penetrate into the resiliently yieldable peripheral surface portion. In operation, the material is first fed between a pair of scoring rollers (6, 7) Fig. 1 (not shown) then between the tool and counter rollers 9, 8 and finally between rollers 9, 10. The waste portion of the sheet is removed by a chain gripper (20, 21) and the finished blanks are removed from between the cutting tools by means of a suction roller 11 and deposited on a conveyer belt 22.</p> |
