<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CATV system attaining high quality and high-speed communication, using a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The CATV system adopting the HFC transmission system, includes wavelength division multiplexers provided in a CATV center; an optical transmitter provided in a two-way amplifier and for converting an uplink signal outputted from a terminal as an electrical signal into an optical signal with a wavelength different from the wavelength of an optical signal transmitted / received by an optical transmitter/receiver; and a closure provided with wavelength division multiplexers on a downlink optical transmission line and an uplink optical transmission line or either of them, and an optical signal subjected to wavelength division multiplexing is transmitted between the CATV center and the closure by using the downlink optical transform line and the uplink optical transmission line or either of them via the connection of the optical transmitter, provided in the two-way amplifier to the wavelength division multiplexer provided in the closure via the optical transmission line with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
