An apparatus and a method for driving a plasma display panel are provided to reduce dark afterimage, improve jitter characteristics, and prevent erroneous discharge by improving a reset pulse waveform applied during a reset period. A driving method of a plasma display panel displays images according to a plurality of frames. The frames include a first frame and a second frame following the first frame. The driving method controls a reset pulse to apply a bias voltage in a set-up process of a reset period according to the number of reset pulses having rising ramp pulses applied to a sub-field of the second frame, where the number of the reset pluses is sequentially decreased within the second frame. |
