COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING SARGASSUM SERRATIFOLIUM EXTRACT FOR SKIN WHITENING

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for skin whitening and, more specifically, to a cosmetic composition having skin whitening effects by comprising a Sargassum serratifolium extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the Sargassum serratifolium extract or a compound isolated therefrom has excellent melanin generation inhibition and tyrosinase inhibition activities, so that the composition comprising the same as the active ingredient can be usefully used as a cosmetic composition for skin whitening. More specifically, the Sargassum serratifolium is a natural material, and thus is edible, so that the cosmetic composition for skin whitening comprising the extract and the compound derived from the Sargassum serratifolium is safe even when being taken for a long period of time.
