摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the service life of the titled electrolytic electrode in an aq. soln. by applying an ion irradiation treatment or an ion mixing treatment to the surface of the electrode in the insoluble electrode obtained by coating a platinum group metal or its compd. on an anticorrosive and electrically conductive base material. CONSTITUTION:Pt, Ir, Rh, Pd, Ru, and the alloy or oxides of the metals are plated on the base material made of Ti, Ta, Nb, Zr, Pb, and the alloy of the metals. The plated electrode is then placed in a vacuum vessel, the accelerated ions of N, Ar, O, etc., are implanted into the surface, and the ion irradiation treatment is applied. The ion mixing treatment is alternatively applied by implanting the accelerated ions and the vaporized metal or semimetal such as B and Si into the surface of the electrode while mixing the ions and vapors. Consequently, when a Pt-plated Ti electrode is used, the Ti base material is partially exposed, the exposed part is reformed by anticorrosive Ti.X, and Pt.X having a dense surface and with less defects can be obtained.
