The bis-(phenoxyphenyl) phthalates are useful as lubricantsALSO:The invention comprises bis-(phenoxyphenyl) phthalates which may be made by reacting one or more phenoxyphenols with one or more phthaloyl halides, preferably chlorides, in a refluxing solvent, e.g. toluene, until evolution of hydrogen halide ceases. An example describes the reaction of 3-phenoxyphenol and isophthalyl chloride to form bis-(m-phenoxypheny) isophthalate. |
