A mobile mixer for bituminous material has a bucket elevator 11 which can be swung about pivot 15 to rest on separate bogeys for transport, a lower mixer part 1 fixed to the wheeled chassis 8, an intermediate p a r t 2 pivotable about a horizontal axis to rest inverted on the chassis and an upper part 3 pivotable about a second horizontal axis 4, as the part 2 is moved, to rest on a second set of bogeys for transport. The elevator 11 is swung about pivots 15 by radial tipping arms 5 and links 10 to rest on two bogeys, in which condition the pivots 15 are unlatched. The hydraulically actuated arms 5 are connected to pivots 2a to swing the intermediate and upper parts 2, 3 about links 9. As the part 2 approaches the vertical rollers 7 on the upper part engage the sloping end of the chassis 8 to pivot the parts 2 and 3 relatively about the axis 4. Continued movement of the arms 5 allow the rollers 7 to engage a sloping surfaced separate bogey and pivotting continues until the upper part can be supported on two separate bogeys for individual transport and the intermediate part 2 rests inverted on the chassis 8. Hydraulically operated jacking legs are provided for the chassis when in working condition. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 935,849. |
