PURPOSE:To improve a long-term shelf stability under ordinary temperature and humidity conditions or high temperature and humidity conditions and a shelf stability in the presence of a plasticizer by adding a substance of a specific third component imparting a shelf stability to either or both of a thermal color- forming layer and a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is provided a thermal color- forming layer layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron donative dye and an electron accepting compound on a substrate and further provided with a protective layer thereon, as required. In at least one of the thermal color-forming layer and the protective layer, at least one of compounds shown by formulas (I) is incorporated. In the formulas (I), R1, R2, R3, and R4 represent a group selected out of halogen atom, halogen atom, aryl group, and 1 -5 C alkyl, and X represents a group selected out of -SO2-, -S-, and a group shown by a formula (II). |
