<p>Compatibility of borehole fluid with the shale formation is determined with instrument which checks swelling of a sample immersed in the fluid. This allows the composn. of the fluid to be selected ensure optimum drilling conditions. The instrument has a sensing lever with bridge-connected strain gauges.</p> |
