1293063 Detergents with bleaching agents PROCTER & GAMBLE Ltd 14 June 1971 [15 June 1970 3 March 1971] 28875/70 and 5896/71 Heading C5D [Also in Division D1] Materials such as cotton, nylon and terylenecotton are bleached by treatment with an aqueous solution of wherein R is a phenyl group which may be substituted by Cl, OCH 3 or CH 3 . The peroxide may be formulated as a solid detergent composition comprising (i) inorganic salts, e.g. alkali metal carbonates, sodium silicate, sodium tripolyphosphate, phosphates, alkali metal chlorides, sodium sulphate, (ii) sequestrant, e.g. sodium nitrilo triacetates, ethane-1-hydroxy-1,1-diphosphonate sodium citrate and sodium gluconate, (iii) organic surfactants, e.g. sodium alkyl benzene sulphonates, sodium tallow alkyl sulphates, tallow/coconut oil soaps, polyethylene oxide condensates with polypropylene oxides, fatty alcohols, alkyl phenols or fatty acids, or coconut fatty acid monoethanolamide, (iv) inorganic perhydrates, e.g. sodium perborate, sodium perphosphate, sodium percarbonate and H 2 O 2 , (v) enzymes, and (vi) sodium carboxy methyl cellulose. The peroxides may be coated with inert material or mixed with inert material and coated, agglomerated or extruded as " noodles ". |
