1,181,375. Moulding candles. LILJEHOLMENS STEARINFABRIKS A.B. 14 March, 1967 [15 March, 1966], No. 11912/67. Heading B5A. In a device for shaping tapered ends on stearine candles, a lower tapered shaping socket 2 is supported in a vapour heated container around an opening therein, by means of a shoulder 7, and is provided with an upper socket 1 providing a guiding lead-in for candles lowered therein for shaping. The upper larger diameter of the heated socket 2 should be that of the candle and a circumferential groove 3 and radially drilled holes 4 are provided at the junction of the sockets 2 and 1 whereby molten candle is drained off to prevent formation of a bead on the candle; drainage at the base of the shaping socket 2 is facilitated by a reverse taper 6 at the lower end thereof and build-up due to drainage around the lower end of the candle is compensated for by a short section 5 of larger cone angle. In alternative embodiments (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) the guiding and shaping sockets 1, 2 may be formed of two separate parts inter-engaging at a cylindrical or a conical surface. |
