The cathodes are arranged to surround the anodes in such a way that the inner surface of each cathode is congruent with the upper surfaces of each anode, thus increasing the effective surfaces. A partition between and above the electrodes reduces chlorine contamination in the cells and improves hydrostatic pressure in the electrolyte, thus overall productivity.
