摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the device size of an image exchanging part and to prevent an image from being deteriorated by allowing a transmission part in the image coding device to execute coding processing for thinning picture elements and lines to 1/N and transmit compressed image data and allowing a receiving part to switch the processing to decoding processing corresponding to the divided number N. CONSTITUTION:On the transmitting side, A digital television signal separated into a brightness signal and a color difference signal and coded is thinned at its picture elements and lines by a subsampling circuit 10 and compressed to the information of 1/4 amount of a picture. The compressed signal is transmitted to a transmission line connected to an image exchange device 1 as a digital TV signal (e) for four divided pictures through an input buffer memory 11 for executing frame thinning, a coding processing circuit 12 for executing compressed coding and a transmission line coding circuit 15. On the receiving side, the time-division multiplex signal of the digital TV signal for four pictures sent from the transmission line is processed by a decoding processing circuit 19 to decode and reproduce a digital TV signal (k) obtained by composing four divided pictures.</p>
