PURPOSE:To pass an intersection smoothly by displaying the intersection shape, travel lane, etc., when a vehicle approaches the intersection. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic processing part 3 calculates the current position of the vehicle to discriminate whether or not the current position is in a specific area from the intersection position and switches the mode to an intersection display mode when so. Intersection data is read out of a map data storage means 4 and a display means 5 displays the intersection shape, travel lane, right/left turning or straight traveling, etc. Consequently, the driver can knows the traveling lane from an intersection passage section in advance, and passes the intersection smoothly to easily reach a destination. |
