PURPOSE:To stabilize the electrostatic charge quantity in repetitive use over a long period of time and to maintain excellent image quality by coating the carrier with an acrylic resin contg. fine particles of a specific crosslinked polymer. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a powdery magnetic material is coated with the acrylic resin contg. the fine particles of the crosslinked polymer of 30 to 1,000nm obtd. by compounding and polymerizing the polymer so as to consist of 50 to 99.95wt.% monoethylenic unsatd. monomer and 0.05 to 50wt.% crosslinking agent having >=2 ethylenic unsatd. bonds. The fine particles of the crosslinked polymer to be incorporated into the acrylic resin for coating the carrier refers to spherical gel particles having a three-dimensional crosslinking structure. The carrier has the resin coated layer having a thickness. The carrier for developing electrostatic charge latent images and the developer of a long life with which the stable electrostatic charge quantity is obtainable in spite of the repetitive use over a long period of time are obtd. in this way. |
