PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of magnetic properties of a resin-bonded magnet and the breakdown of the magnet by giving a corrosion resistance through designating a powdered magnetic metal as a chromate-treated material and containing a chromate in a resin binder. CONSTITUTION:In a resin-bonded magnet where a powdered magnetic metal is formed into an integral body by a resin binder, the powdered magnetic metal is specified as chromate and/or the chromate is contained in the resin binder to give a corrosion resistance. Any magnetic metal can be used as the powdered magnetic metal to be used without requiring any particular restriction, but a rare earth alloy is desirable as such powdered magnetic metal. As the chromate, a slightly soluble one is desirable and it is possible to use chromates called as chromate pigments represented by strontium chromate, barium chromate, zinc chromate, cadmium chromate, lead (I) chromate, etc. As a result, it is possible to improve the corrosion resistance. |
