PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing a basic nitrogen-containing acrylic resin, polyepoxy compound and phosphorus-containing compound and capable of giving films having improved finish external appearance, physical performance, weather resistance, etc., by cold curing or low-temperature hot-curing without discoloration in forming the films. CONSTITUTION:A coating composition containing (A) a basic nitrogen-containing acrylic resin, (B) a polyepoxy compound and (C) a phosphorus-containing compound. The amount of the component (B) is such that the equivalent ratio of the epoxy groups thereof to the total of the carboxyl and amino groups in the component (A) is 0.5-2:1. The amount of the component (C) is 0.2-20pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. solid of the component (A).
