REDUCING DEVELOPMENT OF OFF-FLAVORS IN COMESTIBLES PACKAGED IN PLASTIC CONTAINERS

Process for reducing development of off-flavors in comestibles thermally processed in polymeric containers where the comestible is in contact with a container wall which is a polymer containing at least ethylene as a monomer by pretreatment at an elevated temperature of the polymer used to form the container wall until the amount of the precursors of the off-flavor producing components of the polymer is substantially reduced.
