TIMEPIECE WITH POWER GENERATING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ornamental and multifunctional properties of a timepiece. SOLUTION: This timepiece with a power generating function has reflecting type polarizing plates 9, 10 reflecting linear polarized light with a vibration plane orthogonal to a transmission easy shaft, and a liquid crystal cell 39 serving as a light modulating function part for modulating the transmission of light. The reflecting type polarizing plates 9, 10 and the liquid crystal cell 39 constitute a liquid crystal display panel 30. A solar battery 41 is disposed on the lower side (the rear side) of the liquid crystal display panel 30.
