A composition comprising the extract of Sophora flavescenes, soluble extracts thereof, fractions thereof or flavonoids separated therefrom is provided to prevent and treat the heart circulatory system disease. The composition for preventing and treating the heart circulatory system disease comprises the extract of Sophora flavescenes which is prepared by extracting Sophora flavescenes with water, C1-C4 alcohol or mixed solvents thereof, chloroform soluble extracts thereof, fractions thereof which is prepared by performing silica gel chromatography with 100% chloroform, n-hexane/acetone mixed solvent and chloroform/acetone mixed solvent as moving phase or flavonoids separated therefrom.
