PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning chip holding tool capable of appropriately removing a foreign matter adhering on the optical surface of an optical connector arranged facing the optical transmission medium.SOLUTION: A cleaning chip holding tool 120 includes: a hollow cylindrical part 130 which has its top end opened and capable of being fitted to the inside or the outside of an annular projection 16 inserted with an optical transfer medium and is arranged around the optical surface of an optical connector 10; and a chip holding part 140 which is arranged so as to be freely moved back and forth in the axial direction of the cylindrical part 130 within the cylindrical part 130 and holds a base end part of the cleaning tip so that the top end of the cleaning chip is arranged on the top end side of the cylindrical part. When the chip holding part 140 holding a cleaning chip 50 in a state that the cylindrical part 130 is fitted to the annular projection 16 is made to advance toward the tip end of the cylindrical part 130, the top end of the cleaning chip 50 is brought into contact with a second optical surface 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
