The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for phase balancing in a three-phase power distribution system provided on board a means of transport, a three-phase power distribution system comprising the apparatus, a means of transport comprising at least one of the apparatus and the three-phase power distribution system, the use of the apparatus on board a means of transport and a method for phase balancing in a three-phase power distribution system. According to a device embodiment, an apparatus (10) for phase balancing includes one or more multi-way switching devices (120, 140, 160) and a control unit (200; 122, 142, 162). Each of the one or more multi-way switching devices (120, 140, 160) is configured to selectively connect a load of one or more loads (Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 ) with the phases (A, B, C) of the three-phase power distribution system, thereby enabling a plurality of switching states between the one or more loads (Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 ) and the phases (A, B, C) of the three-phase power distribution system. The control unit (200; 122, 142, 162) includes one or more communication interfaces with the one or more multi-way switches (120, 140, 160). |
