PURPOSE:To faithfully reproduce a surround signal by synthesizing the output of a delay circuit, which delays the difference signal from a difference signal generating circuit, and the sum signal from a sum signal generating circuit and adding the difference signal from the difference signal generating circuit to the synthesized signal to obtain a monaural signal. CONSTITUTION:Signals SL and SR of two channels are inputted to a sum signal generating circuit 50 and a difference signal generating circuit 16. The difference signal from the difference signal generating circuit 16 is delayed by a delay circuit 17, and the sum signal from the sum signal generating circuit 50 and the difference signal delayed by the delay circuit 17 are subjected to subtraction by a subtractor 18. The subtraction signal and the difference signal delayed by the delay circuit 17 are added by an adder 13, and the output is led out as the monaural signal from an output terminal 14. Consequently, signals of two channels are reproduced as the faithful monaural signal without losing the surround component, and the surround effect is obtained even with the monaural output. |
