<p>PURPOSE:To ensure the detection of the intrusion of water into a cable by monitoring the resistance value between a bare core wire provided in the composite cable and the water. CONSTITUTION:A composite cable 2 has control wires 2d, high-voltage wires 2e and coaxial circuits 2f in a cover 2b and a shield 2c. The image of the inside of a water container 1 is picked up with an underwater monitoring TV camera 3. The state in the container 1 is displayed on a TV monitor 5 and observed. At this time, the resistance value between a bare core wire 2a and the water in the container 1 is detected by an immersion detecting alarm circuit. When the resistance value is changed and exceeds a specified value, the circuit 4 is operated, and the fact that the water is intruded is displayed on the screen of the monitor 5. In this way, the immersion can be found at the early period without adding air into the cable and damaging the cover 2b.</p> |
