<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a chip resistor which causes no Manhattan phenomenon by providing an electrode section only on one surface for conducting surface mounting of a base or by providing the electrode section not only on the one surface but also on both end surfaces and also conducting the insulating coating of the electrode section of the both end surfaces. CONSTITUTION:In a chip resistor 2, electrode sections 6 are provided only on a base 4 with rectangular cross section, i.e., on a surface for conducting surface mounting and a resistance section 8 is provided in the manner of extending over these two electrode sections 6 or, in the chip resistor 2, the electrode sections 6 are provided not only on one surface for conducting surface mounting of the base 4 but also on both end surfaces 18 and an insulating coating 20 is applied onto the both end surfaces 18 so that the conformability to a creamed solder 16 is deteriorated.</p> |
