1,180,935. Crimping yarn. BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 26 April, 1967 [29 April, 1966], No. 19230/67. Heading D1F. A crimped yarn is produced in one continuous process by drawing synthetic filaments issuing from a spinneret, and then crimping the filaments in a stuffer box. The box comprises fixed back and side walls, and a front wall formed by a door hinged to the back wall and having a yarn guide which when the door is closed is disposed at the entry side of the feed rolls of the box. The door is kept closed by an electromagnet, the circuit of which can be opened by a handle on the door. The door has an adjustably weighted flap which closes the exit of the box. The box may have two compression chambers each with its own closure flap. Before the crimping the filaments may be heated in addition to the heating generated by the drawing, and after the crimping the yarn may be wound, or set.
|
