PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding wherein the degradation by ultraviolet rays during crosslinking is prevented by irradiating a molding made of a crystalline polyolefin and a UV absorber with ultraviolet rays at a temperature equal to or higher than the crystalline melting point of the polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:The purpose molding is obtained by irradiating a molding made of a crystalline polyolefin and a UV absorber with ultraviolet rays at a temperature equal to or higher than the crystalline melting point of the polyolefin. As the crystalline polyolefin to be used, polyethylenes such as low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene, linear polyethylene, ultralow-density polyethylene and ultrahigh-mol.-wt. polyethylene are particularly desirable because they can give molding of high crosslinking efficiency. The crystalline polyolefin is molded in the form of a mixture thereof with a UV absorber. This mixture may be molded in the form of a mixture thereof with a photosensitizer alone or together with a crosslinking aid and the addition of a photosensitizer is particularly desirable because the ultraviolet crosslinking can be performed at good efficiency. |
