The means comprises a flexible toppling and aligning device (7), a device (4) for pronging the marker cones (5) and a lifting/distribution device (6) mounted on a container for storing the marker cones (5). The container is preferably the floor of a truck, it being advantageous for said floor to be equipped with a device for stacking the marker elements (5) supplied so that these can be fed directly to a distribution device. The said toppling and aligning device (7) is preferably equipped with a device for the alignment of marker cones knocked over by the traffic on the carriageway.
