<p>PURPOSE:To attain the measuring of temperature over a long distance by connecting plural light amplifiers to an optical fiber at an interval less than the limit of measurement in a system for detecting the intensity of Raman scattering light to measure the temperature. CONSTITUTION:Plural light amplifiers 3 are connected to the optical fiber 2 for a DTS 1 on positions less than the measuring limit distance. An optical pulse is made incident from a main body device 1 upon an optical fiber 2 and then Raman scattering light is detected to measure the temperature of respective parts of the optical fiber. Since the light intensity is reduced in accordance with the distance and amplified during the period that the intensity is more than the lower limit, temperature can be measured over a long distance.</p> |
