A rotary-scythe lawn-mower blade, in which the blade has those ends thereof which carry the cutting edges composed entirely of a non-reinforced flexible polyurethane elastomeric material, is characterized in that the cross-sectional profile of each blade-part which includes a cutting edge decreases in thickness in the direction from the cutting edge to an area between the cutting edge and the oppositely-located trailing edge of the bladepart, and then increases in thickness again towards said trailing edge. As in Specification 1,198,518, the flexible blades are secured to the vertical mower-spindle by plates of metal or rigid plastics.
